Use your sleuthing skills to uncover the secrets of a cloak and dagger conspiracy.
The Isklander trilogy is a three episode Alternate Reality Game event in which teams of up to six players join up to solve a cryptic mystery. Using a mix of live-action performances, newsreel footage, and fourth-wall-breaking research, players must assume the role of a sleuth as they investigate missing persons, murders, and clandestine conspiracies. The line between reality and fiction becomes increasingly blurred in this multimedia mystery.
Challenge and solution:
Swamp Motel, the creators of the Isklander trilogy, challenged Matterdam to create a new visual identity for Isklander that will connect with gaming audiences.
Isklander weaves together clashing thematic concepts: ancient vs. contemporary, nature vs. the city, arcane rituals meets modern corporate culture. Its internal mythology draws heavily on Arthurian legend and the tarot, but it takes place in contemporary London as the player battles a shadowy global corporation.
We created an identity that smashes together these two disparate worlds with a symbol of power – the globus cruciger found in the 'DE'.
